About Me

I started following a paleo lifestyle two years ago. My husband is lactose intolerant and I have celiacs disease ( I know who doesn't these days). I looked into so many different "gluten free " cook books and I was so frustrated by the strange ingredients and lack of "healthy" options for gluten free. Then I came across the book called Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fargoso. I would recommend this book to everyone! On the bottom of my blog there is a link. My husband and I started using her recipes and I was so excited that I could be gluten free PLUS dairy free and feel SO good eating fresh food. I still have set backs because I have recently become allergic to almonds, stone fruits, and other nuts BUT I am so happy that I found a way to eat that allowed me to eat amazing recipes with out having to have weird ingredients. In my recipes you won't find a lot of nuts, almond flours and wild game. My husband is studying to be a doctor so being able to buy those are a splurge and lets face it, my body doesn't like almonds anyways! I do almost all of my shopping at the Aldi and I get a few things at Costco. I hope that when other paleo eaters read my blog they understand that I know that grassfed, free range meat is best but I cannot afford bulk or going to whole foods every week. Someday when my husband is done with school I will be able to but not now.I want to show people who read my blog that you can eat healthy on a tight budget. Say goodbye to boxed foods and show yourself that you CAN eat healthy no matter what your financial situation is.
